Motorcyclist Ejected on Panoramic Highway, but OK

A driver was making a U-turn on a curved spot on the road and a motorcyclist couldn't stop in time.

Two Mill Valley residents were involved in a minor collision Saturday on Panoramic Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Just west of Edgewood Avenue, Robert Hatfield, 66, drove is 1993 Toyota MR2 sports car into a pullout spot along a curved section of the road and began to make a U-turn from westbound to eastbound, according to CHP Sgt. Marcus Bartholomew. It was 6:20 p.m., right just when Eruch McCoy, 24, was approaching the spot on his 2004 Kawasaki KLR650 motorcycle.

The Toyota was halfway through the U-Turn and McCoy couldn't stop in time. He slammed into the driver's side of Hatfield's car and was ejected onto its hood. He landed on the roadway.
