Mom Home With Two Kids Deters Kipling Drive Burglars

Two men suspected of using a crow bar to try to force their way through a front door in the 100 block of Kipling Drive this morning ran from the front yard when they realized residents were home, Mill Valley Police said.

A mother who was home with her two children heard a loud banging sound at her front door around 7:30 a.m., and saw two men with a crow bar type of tool trying to force their way into her house on the 100 block of Kipling Drive.

Mill Valley Police Valley Police Det. Sgt. Paul Wrapp said the suspects ran from the front yard when they realized someone was home, and probably left in a waiting vehicle. Both men are described as black male adults in their 20’s or 30’s and wearing dark baggy or bulky clothing, and possibly hooded shirts or sweatshirts.

They did not enter the house, and Mill Valley Police were on the scene in less than two minutes after the mother called 911, Wrapp said.
