Mill Valley Man Arrested for Alleged Meth Possession in Strawberry

Marin County Sheriff's deputies say 51-year-old resident was jumping on the Redwood Hwy. Frontage Road and scaring drivers and saying there was a sniper on the roof of the 7-Eleven.

A 51-year-old Mill Valley man was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of being under the influence of methamphetamine after he scaring drivers by jumping into Redwood Hwy. Frontage Road and saying there was a sniper on the roof of the nearby , according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 600 block of Redwood Hwy. in Strawberry at around 7:30 a.m. Sunday on a report that a man was jumping into the roadway and scaring drivers, according to Sheriff's Lt. Barry Heying.

Deputies located and detained the suspect, Christopher Bagley, in front of the store at 690 Redwood Hwy., Heying said. Bagley told the deputies that he feared for his life, that people were following him and that there was a sniper on the roof of the nearby 7-Eleven, Heying said.

Deputies determined that Bagley was under the influence of drugs and found "evidence of methamphetamine use" on him, along with drugs and related paraphernalia. Bagley was booked into Marin County Jail and has since posted bail.

He is scheduled for arraignment in Marin County Superior Court on Sept. 21.
