Marin Sheriff Announces Deputy Promotions

The Marin County Sheriff announces promotion of Chris Boden, Tom Alipio, and Erik Richardson from Deputy to Sergeant positions.

Sheriff Robert T. Doyle today announced, in a press release this week, the promotion of three deputy sheriff’s to the rank of sheriff’s sergeant. Deputies Chris Boden, Tom Alipio, and Erik Richardson were all sworn in this afternoon as the department’s newest front line supervisors. 

Sergeant Boden is 10-year Sheriff’s Office veteran who has enjoyed previous assignments in the Detention Services Bureau, Field Services Bureau, and the Marin County Major Crimes Task Force. In addition, Sergeant Boden is a Firearms Instructor and member of the Department’s Special Response Team. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Concordia University in Irvine, CA.

Sergeant Alipio is a 30-year law enforcement veteran, having served the past 5 years with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. Sergeant Alipio is assigned to the Field Services Bureau as a Field Training Officer and is also a lead Instructor for the Department’s Defensive Tactics Program and Deputy Leadership Institute. He is a graduate of the 229th Session of the FBI’s National Academy. 

Sergeant Richardson is a 14-year Sheriff’s Office veteran, having past service in both the Field and Detention Services Bureaus. Sergeant Richardson’s most recent assignment was to the Department’s Professional Standards Unit, where he shared responsibility for the recruiting and hiring of all new Sheriff’s Office employees over the past 3 years. Erik has also served as a Field Training Officer and is currently assigned to the Department’s Special Response Team and Range Training Program.
