Marin City Man Arrested for Shooting

By Bay City News Service:

A Marin City man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that critically injured a Sacramento man last month, a Marin County sheriff's sergeant said Tuesday.

Joshua Bell Garrard, 24, was arrested Monday on suspicion of a shooting that occurred around 2:10 a.m. on April 18 in the area of Cole Drive and Drake Avenue in Marin City, sheriff's Sgt. Nina Snyder said.

The victim was visiting family in Marin City and was walking when he was shot, sheriff's officials said.

Family members took the victim to Marin General Hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Sheriff's deputies, assisted by the Central Marin Police Authority's SWAT team, served search warrants Monday at three residences in the 900 block of Drake Avenue and Cole Drive, Snyder said.

Garrard was arrested around 2:30 p.m., according to the Marin County Jail booking log. He was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, parole and probation violations, participating in a street gang and conspiracy.

He is being held under $750,000 bail.
