Man Arrested for Alleged Assault on Roommate

Resident of Muir Woods Park neighborhood attacked his roommate during an argument, authorities said.

A 23-year-old resident of the Muir Woods Park neighborhood was arrested Sunday morning for allegedly attacking his roommate during an argument.

The Marin County Sheriff's Office arrested Andrew Cornelius at around 10:30 a.m. after an argument with his 55-year-old roommate turned violent, according to Sgt. Debra Barry. Cornelius allegedly slammed his roommate's head into the ground twice and punched him in the face.

The victim sustained a cut to his head and complained of pain in his neck and wrist. He was treated at an area hospital and released, Barry said. Cornelius moved into the residence on the 600 block of Sequoia Valley Road about a week ago. He is scheduled for arraignment this afternoon and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
