Elderly Drum Circles, Loads of Loud Music and a Bicyclist Hits a Building

This week's roundup of police activity also includes a number of alleged thefts. And it wouldn't be a week in Mill Valley without a few barking dog complaints.

June 5

1:40 p.m. – A witness reported seeing a man ride his bike into the building at 413 Miller Ave. and injuring himself. Police went to the scene and reported that the man was having some difficulty breathing and had some blood on his head. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and for possessing a bicycle that had its serial number and/or distinguishing marks removed or altered. He was booked into county jail.

6:48 p.m. – A resident called police to report that a 6-year-old girl had lost her parents at . The girl’s brother had a baseball game at Alto Field behind the school and she’d gone to play on the swings. When she returned both parents and the brother were gone. The parents were contacted and told police they miscommunicated, with the mother thinking the father had picked up the girl. The parents returned to pick up the girl.

11:16 p.m. – A resident called police to report loud music coming from outside the . Police went to the scene but were unable to hear any loud music.

June 6

8:06 a.m. – A man moving from Mill Valley to Chicago reported that he was in the midst of his move and found out that a number of items had been stolen from his Locust Ave. home. Police are investigating.

11:15 p.m. – A resident complained about loud music at on East Blithedale Avenue. A manager at the restaurant told police they would close the doors and windows and that the music was concluding soon.

June 7

12:55 a.m. – A resident called police to report loud yelling and partying in the outdoor area of the . Police went to the scene and determined that the subject who was reportedly screaming outside had left. An employee was advised to shut the door and keep the noise down.

3:47 p.m. – After spotting 10 charges totaling $1,000 on his Visa card, a Cornelia Ave. reported the fraud.

5:18 p.m. – A resident of the apartment in the 600 block of Miller Ave. reported she was punched by another woman. The resident did not want to file charges and said she’d be contacting a social worker.

9:25 p.m. – A resident of Roque Moraes Court reported that a neighbor’s dog had been barking for a few hours and was an ongoing problem. Police contacted the dog’s owners and advised to limit the dog’s barking. 

June 8

1:45 p.m. – A dark purple Specialized bike was reported stolen from . The bike was not locked. Police have no info on possible suspects. 

9:55 p.m. – A resident reported that a silver sedan had been speeding and tailgating him and was now parked in the lot. Police contacted the man and determined that man had not been drinking. The man was advised about his alleged reckless driving.

June 9

7:57 p.m. – A resident reported loud drumming in the area of Monte Vista and Rose avenues. Police went to the scene and determined that it was a drum circle comprised of elderly people. It was not amplified and allowed to go until 10 p.m.

8:53 p.m. – After his iPhone was stolen between 6:45 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the , a resident tracked her phone using an app and told police it was located in an industrial area of the Canal district of San Rafael. Police advised the woman to contact San Rafael Police for further assistance.

June 10

8:20 p.m. – A resident of Eucalyptus Knoll alleged that her neighbor keyed an “X into the passenger side of her car. The resident had no proof of the allegation.
