Eggs on Windshield, Denim Theft and Vandalism at Joe's

This week's roundup of recent police activity includes vandalism, a teen reported missing and a number of stolen bikes.

Dec. 27

2 a.m. – A resident reported that some patrons were standing in the street outside the the 2am Club and being loud. Police dispersed the crowd.

11:37 a.m. – A woman walking to work at Bank of America at Throckmorton and Corte Madera avenues was hit by a silver Mercedes as she crossed the street, police said. The driver, an 80-year-old woman, reportedly did not stop at the stop sign on Corte Madera Ave. She did however, walk the woman to work. The victim sustained an injury to her knee.

Dec. 28

4:50 p.m. – A woman reported that she left her wallet and cell phone on a gas pump at the Arco gas station on Redwood Highway and found they were stolen.

10:01 p.m. – A resident called police to report his 15-year-old son was drinking up on Old Railroad Grade and Summit Ave. with friends. Police cited the teen and released him to the custody of his parents.

Dec. 29

12:49 p.m. – A resident reported a gray Tuareg SUV was driving 40 mph on East Blithedale Ave and almost hit the resident and another person.

2:24 p.m. – A shopper at Safeway on Camino Alto reported that she had placed her purse on the seat of a shopping cart in the store and realized that her wallet had been taken from the purse after she went to grab a paper bag. 

Dec. 30

5:29 a.m. – A resident of Longfellow Dr. reported that her Honda Accord was stolen sometime overnight from her driveway. The car was locked but the valet key was inside the car, the resident said.

Dec. 31

12:36 p.m. – A driver on East Blithedale Ave. called police after a gray Acura MDX swerved into her lane and almost hit her car. The Acura was occupied by five people who were laughing at incident, the woman told police. 

3:02 p.m. – A resident of Marion Ave. reported that his silver Toyota Forerunner was vandalized, with someone taking the front headlight and smearing eggs on the windshield.

Jan. 2

9:25 a.m. – Someone reportedly threw some planters through the front windows of Joe’s Taco Lounge overnight. Nothing was taken from the restaurant. 

Jan. 3

10:11 a.m. – A driver called police to report that another driver was upset that he was driving too fast so he drove his black Mercedes SUV into the other man’s car. 

5:12 p.m. – A resident of Miwok Way reported that his HTC Inspire cell phone was stolen from a New Year’s party at the New Karibbean City nightclub in Oakland. The cell phone was valued at $499.

Jan. 6

3:11 p.m. – A Tam High student reported that her iPhone 4S was taken from her backpack in the PE locker room sometime during the day.

Jan. 7

1:01 a.m. – A resident called police to report that her 14-year-old daughter was at Grilly’s at around 8 p.m. and was supposed to be home by 10 p.m. but had not returned. The daughter’s cell phone was turned off and she was with a 14-year-old boy for whom the parents did not have contact info.

2:15 p.m. – A woman in her mid-20s reportedly stole a pair of jeans from the Carolina Boutique on Throckmorton Ave. downtown. The store didn’t have video footage of the alleged incident but the owners told police that they had her financial info.

Jan. 8

2:18 p.m. – A resident of Sycamore Ave. reported that two bikes were taken from her carport. The bikes had an approximate value of $600.

5:07 p.m. – A resident of Sycamore Ave. reported that his son’s bike was taken from Boyle Parks baseball field. The bike was valued at $400.
