Conservation Corps Group Unearths Box of Guns Near Highway 101 in Marin Co.

A California Conservation Corps crew was removing non-indigenous trees in the area when they found a partially buried plastic box containing the guns.

By Bay City News Service:

A California Conservation Corps crew found eight firearms buried on a hillside in Sausalito near U.S. Highway 101 on Thursday, a police lieutenant said.

The guns, four pistols and four revolvers, were buried between the highway and Spring Street, Lt. Kurtis Skoog said.

The crew was removing non-indigenous trees in the area when they found a partially buried plastic box, Skoog said.

Sausalito police then recovered the guns as well as a Marin Independent Journal newspaper dated November 2002, according to Skoog.

All but one of the heavily corroded guns was unloaded, and they appeared to have been at the location for many years, Skoog said.

Only five of the guns had legible serial numbers, and one of the five registered guns was reported stolen in Richmond in 1994, according to Skoog.

Police do not know who buried the guns or why, but Skoog said that several small marijuana grow sites were located on the same hillside in the past.

The Right to Bear Arms is not connected with the Right to Bury Arms. BTW, check fingerprints of the Marin City 200 Gang, but most of them are either dead of serving life sentences since 1994.

Probably a nut job liberal inherited off their dead hard working republican parents, freaked out and buried them.

@unclemookie: I think it's NRA's gift basket for this year. They're calling it Box 'o Gun. Retail price: your second grade child and one year subscription.

The real question is why are they removing trees!?! I don't care what kind they are. We need every tree out there. Btw, CalTrans needs to replace all the trees they killed along the roadway here in Novato when putting in the extra lanes. You can still see them , tall beautiful trees... Dead.
