A woman jumped out of her Ford Explorer on Hwy. 101 near Marinwood after a 24-year-old man became angry and started punching her in the face. He later hit a fire truck in San Francisco, police said.

The California Highway Patrol is seeking a 24-year-old Mill Valley man after an alleged carjacking on Hwy. 101 near Marinwood in San Rafael Sunday at around 7 p.m.

The CHP’s investigation centers on Jeremiah Dickerson, who became angry with the female owner of the Ford Explorer they were travelling in on Hwy. 101 southbound and began punching her in the face, according to Officer Andrew Barclay. The woman fled the SUV as she feared for her life, and the suspect quickly sped away from the scene, Barclay said.

The driver continued heading south on Hwy. 101, speeding and driving recklessly, Barclay said, before heading into San Francisco and eventually hit a San Francisco Fire department truck in the 1300 block of Post Street as the truck was responding to an emergency.
