CHP Investigating Empty Pickup Truck That Went Off Shoreline

Vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Richmond on May 25 ended up at the bottom of a cliff just south of the intersection with Panoramic.

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating how a 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck ended up at the bottom of a small cliff off Shoreline Highway just south of its intersection with Panoramic Highway last Friday afternoon.

The vehicle was reported stolen out of Richmond, Calif., on May 25th, according to CHP spokesman Eric Hohmeister. The CHP is investigating the possibility that the vehicle may have been intentionally pushed or rolled off of the side of Shoreline, Hohmeister said.

Emergency crews were called to the scene and lowered someone down the cliff to see if anyone is inside the pickup. But the truck was empty.
