Blotter: Woman Gets Botox, Bolts

This week's roundup of police activities includes an alleged theft of botox injections, as well as a variety of thefts and scams.

August 30

12:42 p.m. – A resident of Cascade Drive reported a man walking by her house with a beer tucked inside his coat as he looked into parked cars. A police officer approached the man and determined that he was not drunk, wasn’t on probation or parole and had been using the side mirror of a car to apply sunscreen to his face.

4:23 p.m. – A resident accused a local bank of withholding his funds and asked police to respond. An officer went to the banks and was told by a bank employee that the caller had been yelling at employees, saying how he hates banks. Police said the caller then entered the bank and said, “Do you want to deal with this nicely or want it on the evening news?” Police told the caller to move along.

September 1

10:28 a.m. – A resident of Eugene St. reported that their garage was burglarized over the past week. The garage was locked but had an open window, and two mountain bicycles worth about $5,000 were stolen.

5:14 p.m. – A resident contacted police after seeing w woman sleeping on the sidewalk, possibly intoxicated. Police contacted the woman and arrested her for public drunkenness.

7:55 p.m. – A doctor located on Redwood Highway Frontage Road reported that a client received $420 worth of botox injections and left without paying. The woman reportedly told staff that she was going to the restroom but left the office. Police have contacted the woman, who has agreed to pay her botox bill. 

September 2

10:57 a.m. – A male subject riding a bicycle near the Mill Valley Community Center crashed, flipping over the handlebars and sustaining cuts to his face and hands. The man was breathing okay and was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He had tied his shirt to the handlebars and when the shirt fell into the spokes of his front tire, he was sent careening.

12:53 p.m. – A resident of Laurelwood Avenue reported that a SkillSaw was stolen within the past 10 minutes, and that a wallet with $500 in cash had been stolen just a few days earlier from the same construction site.

September 3

1:44 a.m. – An officer on routine patrol on Redwood Highway Frontage Road spotted a vehicle with expired registration and its license plate covered. The officer pulled over the car and cited the driver for driving without a license, suspended vehicle registration and being a minor in possession of alcohol. A passenger in the car was cited for possession of a switchblade.

5:13 p.m. – A resident of Cascade Drive reported that there were people logging in the area. A police officer responded and found two men doing some brush removal at their home. No merit to logging or a violation of any city ordinance.

September 4

10:05 a.m. – A resident went to the Public Safety Building to report that her child custody paperwork requires a breathalyzer to be used on her ex-husband. The woman said she wanted an exchange today at 5 p.m. and that the husband had his own breathalyzer. Police provided advice. 

10:21 a.m. – A resident of Monte Vista and Marion avenues reported that his court-ordered visitation with his kids are not being honored, and that his children have been with a babysitter for two days while his ex-wife is at Burning Man. Caller told police that it was an ongoing issue. Police left a message with the ex-wife.

September 5

9:10 a.m. – A resident of Ralston Ave. reported receiving a suspicious email she thought was a scam but wanted to know how to report it. The email claimed a family member or friend has been mugged/jailed overseas and needs money wired via Western Union. Yes, it’s a scam.
