Bicyclist Severely Injured In Accident On Mount Tam

A 52-year-old bicyclist was injured in a head-on collision with a vehicle on Mount Tamalpais in Marin County today, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The CHP responded to reports of a collision involving a cyclist on Panoramic Highway near Pan Toll Road at about 11:30 a.m., Officer Andrew Barclay said.

According to a preliminary investigation, the biker was riding west toward Stinson Beach when he veered into oncoming traffic at high speed, Barclay said.

He crashed head-on into a vehicle and suffered multiple broken bones, Barclay said. The man was taken to Marin General Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

The crash remains under investigation by the CHP
