Fluoridation of MMWD Water

I read an article in the Marin IJ a few days ago about a group that wants to put the issue of the MMWD adding fluoride to our water to another vote. In 1973, the voters  narrowly approved the adding of pharmaceutical grade fluoride to our water supply, despite very strong opposition by Dr. John Lee, MD. and many others. What was substituted was not pharmaceutical grade fluoride, but instead a toxic by-product of fertilizer manufacturing. The article also said that up in the north bay water district (Novato) they do not have fluoride added to their water. I could not find the article tonight on the IJ, it was yanked. What I remember was that even if the ratepayers of the MMWD voted to have the MMWD stop adding the toxic fluoride, that the state requirements based on number of water meters in the MMWD would override any wishes of the local customers. My opinion is, we did not get what we voted for. I don't drink MMWD water, but I do use it to wash my vehicles , driveway and water my landscaping. My question is: does anyone who now reads the Patch have an opinion on this fluoridation matter ?
