Car being held up by coyote bush.
Some bad photos taken with my cell phone of the accident on Sat. where a car rocketed off HI 1 between Stinson and Muir Beaches. We had gone to find the rare Blue Boobies(birds) but instead found tragedy. Watching a very brave EMT sailing out over the ocean on the end of the long helicopter tether made me grateful, once again for our first responders.

Thanks for stopping to take these photos and for posting them. Commuting to, or visiting, Stinson Beach and Bolinas is a risky business. No guardrails and lots of blind curves that are poorly banked. That EMT should be honored-- Did the driver survive?

No, he was killed instantly. I read somewhere that he had stolen the car and committed suicide. This guy shot off the road and landed about 200 feet down the cliff. He wanted to go. Sad.

That's so sad, but, to do it in a stolen car? I'm sure the owner has her/his special kind of anguish to deal w/ this. Yet another reason suicide affects so many other people.

I know. I have always thought that public suicide is despicable as so many people who didn't even know the person are now haunted by these images for life.
