Funeral Service is Today for Former Mill Valley Middle School Employee Leon Jones Jr.
He longtime MVMS employee leaves behind his wife of 53 years Claire Jones, five children, his sister Leoma Thomas of Marin City and a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Leon Jones Jr., a long-time employee at Mill Valley Middle School, died June 11, according to the Marin Independent Journal.
"Leon worked at Mill Valley Middle School for almost four decades and loved his job," according to the IJ. "He loved children and was a strong believer in education. Leon was an outstanding husband, father and loyal friend. He was not the rock of the family, he was the mountain."
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21 at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church of God in Christ, 626 Drake Ave., Marin City. For more information, call 415-426-9499.
