Abracadabra! Magician Brian Scott to appear at the Library

Mill Valley, Calif.—On Sunday, April 6th, visitors to the Mill Valley Public Library will see that there really is something magical about reading. Magician Brian Scott will headline the Library’s next Sunday Special event with his “Biblio Spectacular,” a fun-filled, interactive magic show that blends sleight of hand, misdirection, and comedy, all while encouraging children to learn good reading habits and use of the library.

The April 6th Sunday Special begins at 11 am in the Main Reading Room of the Mill Valley Library. The event is free and open to children and their families; no sign-up required.

Brian Scott has entertained audiences for over 20 years, performing around the globe and throughout California. He became interested in magic at a young age and studied over the years with leading magicians as he honed his craft. Today, he is an in-demand performer who has been described as one part Elvis impersonator and two parts goof, with the facial expressions of Jim Carrey. Brian travels to libraries, schools, hospitals, air force bases, and many other venues, thrilling and amusing audiences of all ages with his magic and comedy.

“We are thrilled to have magician Brian Scott performing Biblio Spectacular,” says Senior Children’s Librarian Jessica Ryan. “Kids will not only see an awe-inspiring magic show, but Brian will also be encouraging kids to read and use the library - a perfect combination! ”

Brian Scott’s performance is part of a monthly Sunday Special series that includes fun and exciting musical and dance performances, theater productions, storytelling sessions, and much more, all aimed at children and their families. All events in the series begin at 11 am, one hour before the Library opens to the public. Sunday Specials take place either in the Main Reading Room of the Mill Valley Public Library or right behind the Library at the outdoor amphitheater in Old Mill Park.

Upcoming Sunday Specials include: the Pacific Boychoir on May 4th at the outdoor amphitheater in Old Mill Park; Throckmorton Theatre Youth Performers on June 15th in the Main Reading Room; The Corner Laughers on July 20th in the Main Reading Room, and The Fratello Marionettes performing The Frog Prince on August 10th in the Main Reading Room.
