Kiddo! Memorial Day Weekend Celebration: Family Carnival, Parade and Community Party

Kiddo!, the Mill Valley Schools Community Foundation, is celebrating its Memorial Day weekend again this year and it is packed with family fun, food and music.

Kiddo! Family Carnival

Beginning Friday, May 23 and running through Monday, May 26, join Kiddo! for a real old-fashioned carnival on the basketball courts at the Mill Valley Middle School. There will be rides for all ages, plus food and games. The littlest ones in the family will love the Berry-Go-Round and the Tune Train, while the teenagers will be thrilled with the Sizzler, Zipper, Tilt-A-Whirl and the Texas Tornado, among many more. Advance discounted tickets will be available in the Kiddo! office Monday through Thursday, May 19-22, 8am-3:30pm and Friday May 23 from 8am until noon and at the Mill Valley Community Center on Thursday May 22 from 2pm-5pm and Friday May 23 from 2pm-3:30pm. Advance tickets are $20 and $30 once the Carnival begins. Tickets may be turned in for a ticket book or for a one day wrist band for unlimited rides. Food and games are extra. A part of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Kiddo! and the programs it funds for Mill Valley’s public elementary and middle schools.

Memorial Day Parade

This year’s parade theme is “Honoring Those Who Gave Their Lives for Freedom”. Please come join the Kiddo! Float on May 26 and march along to the tunes of the Mill Valley Middle School Jazz Combo as it winds through downtown Mill Valley to celebrate Memorial Day. To walk along in the parade, meet at 9:30 at Old Mill School.

Kiddo! Memorial Day Celebration

Immediately after the parade on May 26, Kiddo!, Sweetwater Music Hall, Mill Valley Recreation and Famous4 Productions are throwing a party on the fields of the Mill Valley Community Center. The party is free to the community thanks to the Bank of the West who is sponsoring the event and Sweetwater Music Hall who is sponsoring a free “Concert on the Green” featuring Melvin Seals and JGB, Lebo and Friends, and Matt Jaffe and the Distractions. There will also be activities for the kids, plus delicious food and drink from local vendors available for purchase.
