A quick response from four fire agencies knocked down a second-floor apartment fire in Marin City on Monday afternoon, displacing a family of six. No one was injured.

Two parents and four children received aid and temporary shelter from the American Red Cross after the fire in the 200 block of Drake Avenue, said Deputy Chief Mark Brown of the Marin County Fire Department.

The fire agencies answered emergency calls at 12:01 p.m. and found smoke and flames coming from a second-story bedroom window. Deputies from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office were evacuating residents from the complex as fire units arrived at 12:05 p.m.
