TUHSD Posts Staff Report on Proposed Cut of Team Program

The TUHSD Board of Trustees meeting "Team Program" agenda item for February 6 is now posted on the district’s website. It is also linked here and attached at right. A few important points about what has not changed and what has changed along the way:

• The rumor that the Superintendent made a unilateral decision to shut down a program and then changed her mind has never been accurate. She met with Corbett Elsen and John Carroll last Friday and told them there would be a recommendation regarding the Team Program on the Feb. 6 board agenda. Just where the very unfortunate miscommunication began is unknown. The administration and trustees started correcting the misinformation as early as last Friday afternoon. 
• The board will not take action on this item at this meeting. The trustees will have a discussion only.  
• There are two options for the board to consider in the administration recommendation section. Option A is based on the strong outpouring of stakeholder support for the Team Program. A huge amount of articulate and passionate e-mails were sent and every one of them was read and considered. Choice A represents the political process at work.
