Kick off the Fourth with Homestead Valley Celebration

The parade kicks off at 11 a.m. and is followed by hot dogs and sausages at Stolte Grove. Fun for the whole family.

Looking for Fourth of July plans? Bring the whole family for the annual Homestead Valley picnic and parade.

The parade gathers at Volunteer Park, Melrose and Evergreen, to Stolte Grove at 10:30 a.m. and kicks off at 11 a.m. The route goes up La Verne to Stolte Grove. All are welcome to participate, and don’t forget to decorate wear a costume and decorate your bike.

The picnic at Stolte Grove, sponsored by the Homestead Valley Community Association, will be serving lunch for $5 a plate, and includes hot dog or sausage, corn on the cob, chips, and watermelon. Beer, wine and beverages will be available.

At 12:30 p.m. Fur, Scales and Tails will put on a captivating and entertaining animal show for all ages.

Even if you don’t participate in the parade, everyone is encouraged to walk to Stolte Grove since there’s limited parting in the area.
