Kiddo!, the Mill Valley Schools Community Foundation, has placed its familiar
red, yellow, and black thermometers around town to highlight the organization’s
progress toward fulfilling its fundraising goal of $3 million for the 2013-2014
school year.

Kiddo! raises money to fund all art, music, dance, drama and poetry programs for the nearly 3,300 students in Mill Valley’s K-8 school district. In addition, Kiddo! provides funding for district classroom and library aides, technology support, teacher grants, and the district’s Physical Education program. Funds are raised through Kiddo!’s Annual Campaign, Business Campaign and Endowment.

“Our great local public schools are one of the attributes that make Mill Valley
such a special place to live,” said Bill Lampl, Executive Director of Kiddo!. “The
arts are not only integral to a well-rounded education, but are considered part of
the core curriculum in Mill Valley,” added Lampl. “None of these programs would
exist without private contributions.”

Increased student enrollment and limited state funding make contributions from
our local community critical to maintaining a complete education for Mill Valley’s
K-8 students. Parents and local businesses have already stepped up this year,
with contributions of $2.5 million and $250,000, respectively. Kiddo! now asks
the greater Mill Valley community to join this effort by making a contribution to
Kiddo! before December 31, 2013.

"Year-end is the ideal time to make tax-deductible donations to Kiddo!," says
Lampl. Donations can be made to either the Annual Giving Campaign or the
Kiddo! Endowment for the Arts and can be made online at www.kiddo.org or
mailed to 409 Sycamore Ave, Mill Valley, 94941. Kiddo! also accepts planned
giving gifts which have the potential to provide significant tax deductions for the
donor.
