Local rock Hall of Fame musician Carlos Santana will soon re-enter the recording studio with former homeless bandmate after an emotional reunion this weekend.

Santana recently contacted East Bay news station KRON 4, when a feature story led them to a homeless man named Marcus Malone, who had been a percussionist in Santana's blues band decades ago. Santana recognized the man and asked the reporter to help him find Malone again.

"Marcus the Magnificent Malone, man..I always cherished you," the Grammy Award winning Tiburon resident told the homeless Oakland man during a heartwarming, live interview Sunday, explaining he will offer Malone "a place to live, get him some clothes, and get him off the street."

"People are starving for good news, things that make you cry," Santana told CNN News, explaining he would like to see a 24-hour good news channel, "the prodigal son happens every day, we all have family members who get displaced."
