The Outdoor Art Club's Garden Tour "Gardens, Art and Architecture XVII"

The Mill Valley Outdoor Art Club will offer its annual spring Garden Tour, “Gardens, Art and Architecture XVII” on Thursday, April 28, 2011.   Five extraordinary Mill Valley homes and gardens will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

This year Mill Valley will dazzle our guests with five picture perfect gardens full of color and texture. Exact locations are a surprise but it can be known that one is an exquisite estate over 100 years old, another a home owned by a well-known artist with a magical garden displaying over 750 Casa Blanca lilies, and yet another garden entices with a labyrinth designed with exquisite succulents.

Shuttles leave the Outdoor Art Club at One West Blithedale Ave. in downtown Mill Valley beginning at 9:30 a.m.  The last shuttle leaves the clubhouse at 2:30 p.m. Private cars are not permitted and the tour is not handicapped-accessible or appropriate for small children.  Good walking shoes are necessary as there are lots of steps and a long, steep driveway.

A luncheon of The Outdoor Art Club’s will be served in the historic Maybeck clubhouse from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.   The club will also host a silent auction, and unique boutique items and plants will be for sale on the patio.

Advance tickets are highly recommended as the tour often sells out early.  Reserved tickets for the tour are $35.00 per person in advance and $45.00 at the door.  The reserved lunch (which always sells out) is $15.00 per person. Tickets will be available starting March 1st.  The Garden Tour is the Outdoor Art Club’s major fund-raising event of the year and most of the funds raised from this event are awarded to local non-profit organizations.
