An Evening at the Palace

The Bay Area Discovery Museum is proud to announce its seventh annual fundraising gala. Playdate 2011 is the Museum's largest fundraiser.

Building on the success of our 2010 Gala, the Museum's Board of Trustees and the all-volunteer Discovery Council once again join forces to present our 2011 fundraising extravaganza. The event celebrates the delight, imagination and wonder at the heart of the Museum's mission of nurturing childhood creativity. Guests are invited to sip cocktails and nibble on hors d'oeuvres as they browse and bid on swanky packages to the swell tunes of a jazz trio. The evening will progress with a delicious dinner prepared by the award-winning Palace Hotel chefs and a thrilling live auction. Later, guests will foxtrot the night away with the 13- piece Fil Lorenz Orchestra playing big band and contemporary favorites. Guests are invited to dress in cocktail attire inspired by the 1920's.

Proceeds from Playdate 2011: An Evening at the Palace, support the Museum's systematic program of best-practices and unrivaled resources, including hands-on exhibits and expert-guided workshops in the arts and sciences, and groundbreaking outreach programs for children and families in under-served communities, where the need for creative development is most acute.
