Writing Workshop – The Short Story w/ ASHLEY HALLSTED

  • Tuesdays, October 8, 15, 22, 29.
  • 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Single session: $30, $24 OHCA members.

This class is designed for writers of all levels and genres who wish to explore the craft of short fiction. If you are interested in tackling a non-fiction collection or memoir, this class is open to you as well. Every other week, we will examine the short story form as practicing writers. We will discuss isolated aspects of craft in the context of published stories and students’ own manuscripts. As a writer in this workshop, you will be encouraged to take creative risks and experiment with different approaches to fine-tune your unique voice in a safe and respectful environment. The objective here is to learn how to develop new skills and narrative techniques while learning how to read as a writer and trying out some fun writing prompts.  At the end of each session and over the course of the series, you’ll have a better grip on how to use these techniques as tools for building your stories or expanding on your works in progress. Join us! RSVP the Monday prior to each session.
We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
