Unveiling Marin: Capturing Community Environments

A Youth-Led Photovoice Project

Over the course of the year, the Youth Leadership Institute (www.yli.org) and the Marin County Youth Commission, appointed group of youth serving the Marin Board of Supervisors, partnered with community leaders and young people to foster positive social changes by using their creativity, knowledge and real life experiences to address environmental inequities that affect them and peers throughout the county.

The commissioners used photography and dialog to critically examine community environments in Marin City, Canal district of San Rafael, West Marin and Novato. A powerful and true story will unveil the injustices that youth face daily in one of the most recognized counties in the country.
