Community Corner

The Marin IJ and the Future of Community News

The Marin Independent Journal  has been delivering the news to Marin County -- mostly on paper -- for 153 years. But in the age of the Internet and with the rise of social media, it and other newspapers are seeking new ways to reach readers who may never pick up a newspaper. IJ Editor Robert Sterling will discuss some of the changes affecting the newspaper industry and highlight the ways in which the IJ is working to adapt to new ways in which readers are getting their news. IJ editors and reporters will be on hand to meet informally with community members, discuss the ways in which their jobs are changing, hear suggestions for ways they can better cover the community and answer questions about news coverage.
