State of the Bolinas Lagoon Conference

Marin County Parks in partnership with the Bolinas Lagoon Advisory Council, Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and Point Reyes National Seashore will be holding a conference on the State of Bolinas Lagoon. The conference will be on September 19, 2013, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Stinson Beach Community Center, 32 Belvedere Avenue, Stinson Beach, CA 94970.

This annual event will focus on major issues affecting the lagoon and its management and restoration. At this year’s conference, we will be showcasing a variety of topics including lagoon restoration, invasive species management, oil spill response planning, sea level rise preparation, and wildlife issues. The conference will begin with a short film on the history of the lagoon, and presentations by Steve Kinsey, Marin County Board of Supervisors, Ralph Camiccia, Bolinas Lagoon Advisory Council vice Chair, Linda Dahl, Marin County Parks Director, and Maria Brown, Gulf of the Farallones, National Marine Sanctuary Superintendent. The rest of the conference will use an “open-house” format in which visitors can browse information tables on the various lagoon issues and talk to experts.
