Pizza Party on Horse Hill

Join us and partners at Alto Bowl Horseowners Association for a broom-busting pizza party and raffle. Over the past 15 years we have pushed back invasive French and Scotch broom on this Open Space preserve. Now we need your help to make a final push into the broom frontier on the western part of the preserve. The work site is located about ¼-mile up, toward the top of the hill. We will pull broom and sow native grass seed. The work requires considerable strength and stamina but it is possible for volunteers as young as 5 years old to join if teamed with a parent or guardian. Members of the Alto Bowl Horseowners Association will talk about their horses living on the preserve and participants will have a chance to meet them up close. Questions: Contact Volunteer Coordinator Greg Reza at (415) 473-3778 or GReza@marincounty.org. Meet at the gate at the end of Lomita Dr in Mill Valley. DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101 in Mill Valley, take exit 447 for E Blithedale Ave east. Turn right onto Tower Dr, right onto Plaza Dr, veer left on Plaza, right onto Lomita Dr, and follow to end (dead end).
