Movie Night "The Treasure of Sierra Madre" (1948)

Down and out drifters Dobbs (Humphrey Bogart) and Curtin (Tim Holt) meet old prospecter Howard (Walter Huston).  They decide to strike it rich by searching for gold in the remote Sierra Madre mountains.  They discover a lode and begin to extract the gold.  But greed soon sets in.  Based on the novel by B. Traven, the film was nominated for Best Picture and won Best Director and Best Screenplay for John Huston and Best Supporting Actor for his father, Walter Huston.
