Mill Valley Village presents "Touching Home"

Oscar nominees Ed Harris and Robert Forster star in this film by Marin County natives Logan and Noah Miller.  HUFF POST says “Although officially proffered as a fictional narrative, the Millers, identical twins [who grew up in Nicasio], are essentially playing themselves. The movie is a revelatory gem about their ambivalent but never loveless relationship with their father, played by Ed Harris, one of the finest actors around. Touching Home is a hard-edged, tough, yet beautiful film.“  The film, set and filmed in West Marin, is the culmination of a promise the twins made to their dad – to make a film about his life, and to have Ed Harris portray him!    Their dad, a roofer who was repeatedly arrested for alcohol-related offenses, was not the stuff of which studio executives’ dreams tend to be made.  And, the twins, though determined to direct and act in the movie, “never acted in anything” Noah recalls. “We said we were going to direct, but….we didn’t even own a video camera.”   Come early and join us for a no-host dinner after 4:00 and before the film starts at 6:00.  Mill Valley Village is part of a growing national movement dedicated to helping seniors remain in their homes and maintain active, independent lifestyles with the help of a network of local volunteers.  Neighbors helping neighbors.  (http://mvvillage.org). This event is made possible by support from the Rotary Club of Mill Valley and the generosity of the film’s distributor, ARC Entertainment.
