Habitat Restoration: Lake Lagunitas

Restore oak woodland and native grassland habitat by removing outcompeting Douglas-fir trees. Our shrinking pocket meadows are home to sun-loving plants and animals and are hunting grounds for birds of prey. The fruits of our open canopy hardwoods - oak, bay and madrone trees - nourish abundant forest wildlife. Halt the advancement of the fast-growing, shade-producing conifers. Meet at Lake Lagunitas parking lot at 9AM, located at the end of Sky Oaks Rd in Fairfax.

For more information call (415) 945-1128, email Suzanne Whelan at volunteerprogram@marinwater.org, or visit our website marinwater.org.  Thanks for your interest in the Marin Municipal Water District!

Meeting time & Location:  Meet at 9am at the Lake Lagunitas parking area, at the end of Sky Oaks Road, off of Bolinas Road in Fairfax.
