Printmaking is the natural companion process for many mediums, such as drawing, painting, college, and sculpture.  During this workshop series you will have the opportunity to create both monotypes and monoprints.  Monotypes are a one-only print method.  Monoprints also produce just one print.  The process differs slightly due a plate with a fixed matrix being used.  Each inking of the plate produces a unique, individual print.  The series will include plate making, print registration, and printing processes using both an etching press and non-press methods to develop a collograph, linocut, woodcut, or drypoint.  The painterly print will also be in the curriculum.  A new printing process, the Gel Print, will be introduced.  It is just pure fun and magic using a special plate made of plastic and mineral oil.  The workshops are generally orientated to experimentation and inventive use of materials.  Due to demand you will also have the option of creating Holiday Art Cards.  Only water soluble pigments are used.  All levels of artistic experience are welcome.  RSVP the Wednesday prior to each session.
