Melvin Seals & JGB

Melvin Seals has been a significant presence in the music industry for over 30 years, revered for his powerful, high-spirited Hammond B-3 organ and keyboard playing. Melvin spun his B-3 magic with the Jerry Garcia Band for 18 years and in doing so helped pioneer and define the jamband genre. Blues, funk, rock, jazz, gospel, soul--Melvin can play it all (that's why Jerry used to call him "the Master of the Universe!"), and his versatility continues to shine with JGB. He leads his band through the best of the Jerry Garcia Band catalog, including beloved well-known songs as well as some deep cuts and rarely heard tunes. Melvin has frequently referred to himself and the band as "keepers of the flame," and indeed, their shows are a rollicking, joyful, ecstatic, sing-along-while-you-dance-your-ass-off reminder of just how magical a Jerry Garcia Band show could be.
