What:

Do you enjoy caring for babies or young children?  Maybe you would like to help a teenager prepare for adult life as he or she finishes high school.  Becoming a foster parent opens up a wide range of possibilities as you provide a temporary home to children and youth in need.  Although these children have often experienced neglect or abuse, with patience and guidance, they can blossom in a stable home environment.

Marin County Children and Family Services invites adults who would like to learn about foster care or fost-adoption (providing a permanent home to a child in need) to an orientation on Tuesday, October 23, from 7:00 to 8:30pm.  The meeting will be held at 3240 Kerner Blvd, Room 110, in San Rafael (at the Marin County Health and Wellness Campus).

A social worker and an experienced foster parent will be on hand to discuss the application process, as well as the training and support which Marin County offers.  For more information, please call Cindy Wasserman at 473-5028.
