First Friday: Miss Representation

Miss Representation, an award-winning documentary directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, explores the media's various misrepresentations of women in positions of power and influence in America. Imran Siddiquee, social media director of MissRepresentation.org--the social action campaign of the documentary film--will show a Miss Representation trailer and share clips and strategies behind the campaigns sparked by the film. He'll also talk about using social media to engage consumers to act against offensive media.

This after-hours event is free and open to adults and high school students. Space is limited, so registration is recommended.
