Alphabet Soup ft. Jay Lane and Kenny Brooks

Started in 1991 in San Francisco, Alphabet Soup became the city's iconic original hip-hop/jazz group comparable to Philadelphia's Roots crew and the Freestyle Fellowship of L.A. Alphabet Soup broke barriers in the 90's as the first hip-hop group at the Monterey Jazz Festival and other festivals that previously featured strictly jazz acts. Alphabet Soup's musicians have forged strong individual careers, working with members of the Grateful Dead, Charlie Hunter, Les Claypool and many others.
