Art Lecture - Between the Curb and the Front Door : Garry Winogrand and Street Photographers

This presentation will explore Garry Winogrand's work in the context of the many photographers who took to the streets to capture the American culture at mid 20th century and beyond. Featured in the presentation are images by contemporaries including Robert Frank, Diane Arbus and Lee Friedlander. Also included will be never before seen images developed from thousands of rolls of film found after Winogrand's death. Video of the artist on the street taking pictures provides both a sense of Winogrand at work and an insight into his motivation.
