RoCo Dance School Seeks General Manager

Our General Manager at RoCo Dance is moving and we are looking for a new candidate for this great position. 

Description: 
As the General Manager of RoCo Dance you will work closely with the Director/Business Owner to oversee all programs, classes, both Marin studios and manage the regional manager of each location. The position is 75% project management and 25% a mix of execution, customer service, tech support, human resources, production assistance, research, marketing and facilities management. 

About RoCo: 
RoCo Dance is a contemporary dance school founded in 1993 by professional dancer, Annie Rosenthal Parr, that offers 175 weekly classes for adults and youth in two locations within Marin County. Classes include all levels of Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Hip Hop, Breaking, Brazilian, Zumba, Pilates and more. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

75% project management, task delegation & execution related to: 
- 2 dance studio locations, each with its own program, schedule & staff 
- 2 large-scale dance productions at the Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium and 4 smaller productions in the Fairfax Studio per year 
- 3 registration cycles per year (Spring, Summer, Fall) with 350-1,000 students per cycle 
session planning for youth and adult cycles 
- internal database research to inform all business decisions 
- external research on systems & solutions for improving business 
- marketing campaigns for all programs including social media 
- managing the regional managers and stepping in when needed on studio maintenance, facility projects, studio schedules, class attendance check-ins, cash register, boutique inventory, training receptionists and general professional mentoring 
- managing HR for the company - health insurance, tracking time-off and coverage, new hires & exits, payroll 

25% other including: 
- customer service in person, on phone & over email, as well as handling cash, credit card and check transactions 
- teacher, parent & student correspondence regarding studio policies, curriculum, student placement, class/performance schedules and complex unique cases 
- IT support to staff, navigating our systems that include our custom Filemaker Pro 13 database, WordPress website, online OS Commerce products, complex studio schedules in Numbers, online Google calendars, online project management tools in BaseCamp, shared files in DropBox, IT tracker in Redmine, to perform basic tasks and answer customer questions 
- high volume of detailed day-to-day tasks related to running a robust, small-scale business 

We are looking for someone who is: 
- a people person 
- exceptionally tech savvy 
- meticulous with details 
- can focus & multi-task at the same time 
- flexible & at ease with constant change 
- fast & a quick-learner 
- can problem solve on the fly 
- has a vision for growth 
- has an appreciation of good design 
- has a background in IT, web or software development (nice to have) 

Requirements: 
- a minimum of 2+ years recent management experience required, including management of direct report-tos. High level management preferred. 
- candidate must currently be in the work force and have 5+ years of consistent professional experience. 
- a high level of technical literacy across web, database and software applications. 
- a high level of Mac proficiency and Mac applications including Pages, Numbers & Filemaker Pro 13 
- a demonstrated connection to the performing arts in some way. An interest or background in dance is important but not required. 
- must have a car and ability to travel between both studio locations 

Schedule/Hours: 
32-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with flexible schedule. 
Based in Mill Valley studio with 1 day per week working out of the Fairfax studio. 
On call for emergencies on weekends.
