What Should Fill the Former Smith & Hawken Building After Bliss Closes?

With Bliss Home & Design set to close in April, what should move into the building that once housed one of Marin's hallmark companies?

When Bliss Home & Design opened in Strawberry Village in 2011, it moved into a space that was once a staple in Mill Valley.

For more than three decades Smith & Hawken sold high-end English gardening tools to much of the region, before being purchased by the pesticide company Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. in 2004, and going out of business in 2009 due to a drop in sales.

It was the end of an era for Smith and Hawkin. Now, with Bliss Home & Design closing its Strawberry store at the end of April, the space will once again stand empty.
