Weathered Nest Offers Eclectic Finds in Mill Valley Without The Search

As part of a new weekly business highlight, Mill Valley Patch caught up with the owner of Weathered Nest for photos and information about the new store packed with thousands of out of the ordinary finds.

Forget perusing every weekend for the abstract piece you need for that empty place on your shelf. Chances are you can find it right downtown.

Mill Valley entrepreneur, Claudia Sutton, opened Weathered Nest in the heart of town, 31 Sunneyside Avenue, just a few months ago – bringing diverse pieces from local artisans, flea markets and estate sales together in one shop.

The long time owner of Hopscotch Kids toy store says she has adapted her business as her children and family have evolved, now directing her businesswoman persona from mom to her eclectic side.

"This is what my house is like," she told Mill Valley Patch looking around the store, "Full of antiques, folk art, and new items with a vintage feel."

Sutton says she likes to keep it local, about 90% of the store collection comes from California, many being recycled pieces.

Look for weekly updates and specials on the Weathered Nest Facebook page, and make sure to stop in during September for the Mill Valley Library special 10% off.

Visit the Weathered Nest website for hours and photos of specific items.

Check out the 360-degree video view of the shop.
