Thai Restaurant Replaces Antigua Mexican Grill at Alto
Alto Plaza welcomes a new restaurant in the space most recently occupied by Antigua Mexican Grill. Thailand Restaurant's official opening day was Friday, February 4.
The Alto Shopping Center made a transcontinental shift in cuisine last week, as Antigua Mexican Grill closed after less than two years in the center and Thailand Restaurant moved into the space.
Manager Tina Vongsouthi and Chef Cathy Vongsouthi took over the lease from Antigua’s owners about a month ago and re-built the interior to reflect the food and the heritage of their native land. Thailand Restaurant opened last Friday.
Look for a range of Thai dishes including red curry chicken with house made curry paste (never from a can), chicken basil and pad thai. Chef Vongsouthi, Tina’s sister, says she perfected her craft over 17 years as chef at in San Rafael but credits her cooking style and technique to her mom.
