Results of Terrapin Crossroads Poll

Decision on music venue expected mid-October.

After two days, 596 people have voted in .

As of Thursday night, 62 percent of the voters said they were in support of ; five percent said they were in support, but had some concerns; 29 percent were opposed to the proposed project; and 2 percent wanted to wait for the analysis process.

It should be noted that there is no way to tell where the voters are located. Additionally, people were able to vote more than once -- though that was discouraged.

The poll is still open on the 500-person venue proposed next to the current building on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, but .

According to Bruce Burman, the Leshes representative and project manager from Jazz Builders, the Leshes wanted to take a break and postpone the decision while driving with their son across the country back to college. Phil will then go on tour and return in mid-October.

"I expect that within a week after he returns from tour, we will meet and discuss the project and make a decision on whether to move forward in Fairfax," said Burman.

Well said Cyndi. I also believe that regardless of Bruce Burmans history, Phil and Jill are running the show on this one and I truly believe that they will continue to work towards what is best for the community, I don't believe they want to mess with Fairfax, and they have expressed that numerous times.

While I appreciate the intent of this poll, its results are highly questionable because "people were able to vote more than once". Not good. The most revealing and troubling result is that only a small percentage, 7%, still have open minds and have suspended judgment until the needed reports come in....

I do appreciate Kelly's poll here at the Patch. But please note that at TerrapinLanding.com there is a poll (Poll Link: http://www.terrapinlanding.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18 ) that does not allow more than one vote per user. The results would therefore be more accurate. Those interested are welcomed and encouraged to vote and comment in that poll, too. Thanks!

This Poll should be taken off the internet. Anyone can vote as many times as they want, so the poll shows nothing. Please take it off the internet.

We're not really in the business of taking things off the internet, but that's why I ran this short summary of how people voted at a reasonable timetable after it went up. Yes, at this point, the number of votes and times people repeatedly voted probably makes it silly.
