Nobody Beats a Pearl's Phat Burger, Readers Say

Nine-year-old downtown burger shop nabs the top slot on the latest edition of our Readers' Choice competition.

From Phat Bob to Spicy Sly, nobody beats a burger in all its incarnations at , according to Mill Valley Patch readers.

Pearl's, which opened at 8 East Blithedale Ave. in 2003 and has opened three other Bay Area locations since then, won , garnering more than 40 percent of the votes in our poll as well as positive reviews on its directory page.

"It's honest food - no secrets," owner Sean Kim said of Pearl's success. "You know exactly what you're getting when you come into Pearl's. We use grass-fed beef, quality produce and we know how to cook a burger medium to medium rare."

Kim took over the Mill Valley location of Pearl's in 2008. He has 10 employees.
