Low on Gas? Mill Valley is the Place to Fill Up

Drivers in Mill Valley and across northern California are breathing easier as they fill up their gas tanks these days.

Drivers are finally seeing some relief at the gas pump.

Northern California gas prices have slumped from a record-high of $4.63 at the start of October. Regular 87 octane can now be found in in Milley at $3.85 per gallon.

Gas prices in California rose by as much as 50 cents in a one-week period in October when an ExxonMobil refinery in Torrance was forced to shut down by a power outage.

“Surging California gas prices made national headlines (due to a) power outage at the ExxonMobil refinery in Torrance, which sent wholesale gas prices through the roof,” said AAA Northern spokesperson Cynthia Harris. “Our already low gasoline supplies, approaching the October 31 end to summer-blend gasoline requirements, and combination of tight supply issues on the West Coast caused prices to skyrocket at the pump for consumers.”
