Facebook Boot Camp for Parents Set for March 8

Marin County Office of Education is offering a workshop from the nonprofit Common Sense Media.

Parents have an upcoming chance to get clued into the ins and outs of Facebook, the online social network that might be dominating your child’s social life.

The Marin County Office of Education is having a Facebook Boot Camp for Parents on March 8 at the county office’s tech lab in San Rafael. The cost is $25 and space is limited.

Parents will get a hands-on lesson about privacy settings, setting rules for teens’ postings, the sharing of appropriate information and understanding one’s digital footprint.

The workshop will be conducted by Common Sense Media, a nonprofit set up to provide information about technology and the media to kids and their families.
