Creekside Fridays

Join your friends and neighbors, and bring down the kids, pets, chairs, and blankets for Creekside Fridays.

Creekside Friday is a series of music events for the whole family to enjoy.  Each week features local musicians and a different genre of music. We have chosen great music for this season which runs from June 17 to August 12, every Friday night from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.  Each show is held at the Tennessee Valley "Cabin," located at 60 Tennessee Valley Road, a beautiful setting right off the creek.

There is no on-site parking.  However bike and hike paths lead right to us.  Please park at the Tamalpais Valley Community Center (203 Marin Ave.) or Peace Lutheran Church or Fernwood Cemetery.

Food, beverages, wine, and beer will be sold. Each week, we will be cooking up a regular menu of burgers and dogs, veggie burgers, and Caesar salad with or without chicken - and a selection of dessert items.  Eat from our regular weekly menu or enjoy our barbeque specials. We'll have sodas, water, bottled beer, and 'house' and premium wine.

Please note: We discourage bringing your own alcohol as our liquor license requires our opening all alcohol containers on site.

6/24 House Party Boogie Band - Sponsor Stacey Lamirand & Jane Mermelstein

Grab a MoonPie and turn up the jukebox, we're turning it back to the 40's, 50's and 60's!  Music historian, Donn Sanders has been singing Jump Boogie Blues since childhood.  His passion for the era's music brought together infamous Marin musicians; alto sax recording artist Yolanda Nickell, Elvis Johnson on drums, Tommy O'Mahony as bass, Donn on vocals and straight from Buddy Guy's Chicago stage, lead guitar Tommy Odetto.  Collectively they have 30+ years playing on stage.  House Party Boogie Band has grown up in the spotlights of Marin's finest; no name bar, Smiley's, Peri's, 19 Broadway and Taste of Rome. "You can't sit down!"

7/1 Starduster Orchestra - Sponsor Amy Glaser

The Starduster Orchestra is a traditional big band.  While playing music from all periods, we specialize in swing, and other dance music, from the 30's, 40's and 50's.  Because we perform original arrangements with original instrumentation, our audiences get to enjoy the swingin' sound of the Big Band Era the way it was played.  The excitement of our music compels audiences from eighteen to eighty to get up and dance.

7/8 Go Kat Go - Sponsor Stacey Lamirand & Jane Mermelstein

GO! KAT! GO! is a 3 piece band that has the sound and impact of a 10 piece orchestra, thanks to the extraordinary production talents of Mike Williamson, guitarist and producer.  The three members record their own accompaniment tracks in the studio to support the live vocals and percussion of Katy Leaver-O'Leary and Richard McKinley and Mike's astonishing guitar playing.  This unique approach gives them an enormous range of styles, from quiet jazz trio to Big Band, Latin to funk, uptempo dance to romantic love songs.

7/15 Petty Theft - Sponsor Amy Glaser

If you love great songs and rock n' roll music, you can't possibly help but be a huge fan of Tom Petty's musical catalog.  If so, then you will love PETTY THEFT! Petty Theft is comprised of six professional Bay Area musicians that have come together to pay tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.  Petty Theft delivers Petty's songs true to the originals and in the spirit of his legendary bands live shows, performing everything from his revered classics to his most current hits.

7/22 Salsa Dura - Sponsor Cathy Youngling & Myriam McCarthy

What is Salsa Dura?  Literally translated it's ‘Hard Salsa', a genre of Salsa that is the polar opposite of ‘Salsa Romantica'.  This is not Salsa cooking on a low flame!  Salsa Dura is all of the hard pounding montunos and Barrioconscious lyrics from the 70's.  We keep the tradition alive with our own original songs that can be just as experimental and open to new ideas as the first wave of Salsa Music coming out of New York, with our West Coast version.  Orquesta Salsa Dura has plenty of original compositions for televised or radio events, or any other performance with copyright limitations.  We can also play some of the hottest old school Salsa hits, or a combination of the two.
