Downtown Clothing Stores to Host "Fashion Nite Out" Event

On Sept. 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.,Mill Valley's Showroom will feature live music, a local aesthetician and a fashion show as part of the national "Fashion Nite Out" event aimed at encouraging local spending.

On Thursday, Sept. 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., will transform its Throckmorton Ave. store into a full fledged entertainment venue as part of a the national "Fashion Nite Out" event.

The fashion soiree was created soon after the events of September 11 in order to boost the economy and encourage the support of local businesses, according to Janet Ryvin, one of Showroom's owners.

According to Ryvin, the event is celebrated nationally throughout the fashion world, and Showroom is organizing "Fashion Nite Out" activities for the fourth time.

Showroom's event will feature live music by local guitarist Michael LaMacchia and his trio, eyebrow shaping by local aesthetician Noelle Hernandez, finger foods and libations and a fashion show highlighting some of the newest fall trends, Ryvin said.

Marisa Haskell, a local jewelry designer, will also be at the event showcasing some of her work.

Other downtown shops like  and will also be partaking in the event, and will feature a lineup of fashion-oriented activities.
