Alpha Dog Set to Lead Canine March on Memorial Day

New owners of boutique pet supply store downtown are organizing a dog entry in the parade along with rescue groups Muttville and the Milo Foundation.

Downtown pet boutique has changed owners but not its place at the forefront of the dog section of the annual .

New owners Melissa Page and Erin Seavey, who in April took over from Kelly Scott at the retail store but not the in Tam Junction, said they are excited to lead this year’s dog march through the parade’s 1.6-mile route from to .  

Page said that every dog that marches with the group will be entered to win a parade package from Alpha Dog including a bed, a collar and a toy.

The group will be joined by San Francisco rescue organization Muttville, which will be cruising the parade route in a 2012 Volkswagen Bug given to the group by Oprah Winfrey. Northern California rescue group the Milo Foundation will also be joining the parade.

Dogs and their owners will gather at Old Mill Park between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The parade begins at 10:30 a.m.
